We are an independent Marine Engineering business offering private and franchised sales of a number of major leading brands of Boats and Engines and have a large, loyal client base both leisure and commercial. We are based on the Devon Dorset border, between Lyme Regis and Axminster.

We are looking for a Mechanic/Engine Technician to join our busy and professional team. Our core areas of business are Marine engineering, new boat fit out, service and repair, engine refit, all carried out on a variety of marine engines, outboard, inboard, petrol, diesel, leisure and commercial, GRP and RIB’s. The successful candidate will have a keen interest in boats and a proven Mechanical background. We offer training in the mechanics and operations of Marine Engines of all kinds.

Our boating Centre offers servicing, repairs, storage, brokerage, sea school courses, surveying and a chandlery. The role, in this respect is therefore quite varied and can be customer facing at times. Although predominantly engineering based there will be tasks that involve assisting with telehandler lifts, boat container deliveries, handing over engines to customers, assisting with the rigging of new boats etc.

This is a varied role which will require the following skills and commitment:

• Proven qualifications and a clear understanding in the fields of mechanical engineering, diagnostics and electrics, ignition and fuel systems

• Some Knowledge of, and the ability to fit electronic ancillary equipment such as VHF and GPS systems would be an advantage but training is given.

• Must have the ability to work unsupervised and to a high standard

• The ability to communicate with colleagues and customers

• A keen attention to detail and a forward-thinking attitude

• A full UK driving licence

Salary: £27,000.00-£35,000.00 per year
